about
It’s been just over a year since kitti released her debut EP
“Young, Careless & Free” - which got her career off to
an explosive start.
Now, crowned 2020’s Scottish Music Awards’ “best female breakthrough”, she aims to wow with her newest single release, “wonderful world”, which depicts exactly why she also deservingly won last year’s
“best vocalist” award at the Scottish Jazz Awards 2020.
Staying true to her jazz and RnB roots as always, kitti chose to collaborate with Liam Shortall, (the mastermind behind corto.alto) to produce this incredibly catchy, head boppin’, feel good,
groovin’ summer banger!
With a generous serving of lush backing vocals and old school style brass, kitti’s voice is undoubtedly the star of the show, presented within a warm hug of old school/nu-cool production, all while paying homage to the late great Louis Armstrong and his 1967 release of
“What a Wonderful World”.
“When you feel like the world around you is collapsing and falling apart, take a closer look and appreciate the little things in life!
That’s what this song means to me” kitti

lyrics by kitti
My oh my
Never thought I’d be stood here
Hear my cry
Now I’m facing all my fears
I’m not gonna stand for it cause I’m his baby girl
I’m waiting on my turn to take over the world
My daddy told me if a fire begins to burn
You gotta live and learn and muddle through the hurt
Well I know when the rain it falls,
Oh it falls so hard that you feel you’re falling apart,
But you gotta get up and get out and get your
Your head out the clouds!
Well I know when the rain it falls,
And the sun comes up and the grass is greener,
I can almost hear Louis singing
“It’s a wonderful world”
Why oh why
Why’d I make me feel this way
I don’t like
Having no control over the things I say
I’m not gonna stand for it cause I’m his baby girl
I’m waiting on my turn to take over the world
My daddy told me if a fire begins to burn
You gotta live and learn and muddle through the hurt
Oh it gets tough sometimes but
I know, I know, I know ...
Well I know when the rain it falls,
Oh it falls so hard that you feel you’re falling apart,
But you gotta get up and get out and get your
Your head out the clouds!
Well I know when the rain it falls,
And the sun comes up and the grass is greener,
I can almost hear Louis singing
“It’s a wonderful world”
I got a feeling
This is where I’m meant to be yeah
No-one can tell me otherwise
Acting the star in my own movie
It’s a wonderful world we live in oh
My oh my
Always knew the skies would clear

There's something about the composition, this kinda takes that AJE feel and smishes it into
something a whole lot more...darker? Not really, it's got lightness, it's definitely got rhythm and it grooves, deeply, right into your soul. Love this album, think it's my favourite release so far this year. Not for now is an absolute earworm...be warned!
